You recognize your eating has been terrible, so you turn to the laxative “to clean yourself out”. If you aren’t careful that can easily become your go to after binge eating. Everyone that does this does not have an eating disorder, but it is still a terrible practice. If you are going to have a cheat day(s) pay for them in the gym instead of putting your body out of balance.

Moving past a plateau may only require a few slight modifications in your workout routine. If you have been doing heavy 4-6 reps, switch to moderate 12-15 reps for a couple of weeks. If you have been going solo, consider a boot camp. The camaraderie may be just the thing you need. You really don’t need wholesale changes in your routine, just a few changes here and there.

After resistance training, the body is in two distinct modes: replenishment of energy and replenishment of nutrients. Both are fueled by ingesting a protein and a carb source within sixty minutes of the completion of a workout. I often recommend a piece of lean poultry and fruit to clients. What’s really important here is it’s really not what you eat here, more so than when.

Granted there are things to keep in mind when deciding to use the treadmill for workout purposes. However, in many cases the treadmill is a great way to warm up before a workout, or cool down afterwards.

Sometimes we need the stranger to help us get back to fitness. We don’t always need direct interaction; we just need a reminder that everyday is a change to begin again.
