(BlackFitness101.com) Any workout is good for your body, but some exercises are far better than others for burning fat, as they increase your heart rate and help you burn a large number of calories. The best thing about fat burning exercises is they are are often high intensity, meaning you can finish your workout quickly or incorporate the exercises into a longer training session. The following exercises will help you burn fat in every part of your body.
1. Burpees
This classic exercise combines pushups and plyometrics for strength training and cardio, targeting fat on your legs, core, and upper body.
Start in a squat, ensuring your knees are above your ankles. Squat all the way to the ground, placing your palms on the floor to the outside your feet. Without moving your hands, hop into a plank position and then straight back into a squat. Next, jump as high as you can, reaching your arms up. Carry out multiple repetitions in fast succession.
2. Side Plank
If plank position is no longer challenging you, try a side plank.
Begin in an upper pushup, then shift your weight to the right side. Stack your left leg on top of the right and lift your left arm straight up. You can increase the difficulty by lifting your left leg up, too. Hold the pose for a few seconds before returning to pushup position and repeating on the other side.
3. Box Squat Jump
Another plyometric exercise, box squat jumps target the lower body.
This exercise starts out just like a regular squat. However, coming up, you will jump onto a box in front of you, using your arms to propel you. Start with a small box before moving on to larger sizes as you develop your jumping ability.
4. Boat pose
This yoga pose will burn fat around your abs.
Sit on the floor and lean back about 45 degrees. Lift your arms and legs, keeping both straight out in front of you. Hold the pose for as long as you are able.
5. Jumping Lunge
Lunges are an excellent way to tone muscles, and you can add a fat-burning element by turning them into jumping lunges.
Start out exactly the way you would in a regular lunge, with your feet about three to four feet apart and with your front knee bent to a 90-degree angle over your ankle. As you come up from the lunge, jump and switch legs. Repeat, ensuring you do the same number of lunges on each side.
6. Windscreen Wipers
As abs are always a troublesome, here’s one more exercise for burning fat around the abs.
Lie back with your arms at your side. Raise your legs, bending at the knees to a 90-degree angle. As slowly as possible, move your legs together left to right.
If you want to burn fat in even the most difficult places, add these fat burning exercises to your weekly workout plan. Depending on your fitness level and the number of reps you do, you can include all six in a single training session or spread them out over the week. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to see results.
